Hey! I'm Jim, thanks for dropping by!
If you're not into the whole posing for photos kind of thing, and instead, just want to have an awesome time on your wedding day, without worrying about the photography - then you're in the right place. My style can be described as reportage, wedding photojournalism, authentic stoy telling... (and so on!) however, I like to call it creative documentary photography - and with a smile. I think this sums it up pretty well. I'm there to tell the story of your wedding day, just as it happens and with a creative touch. But I also pride myself on putting everyone at ease on your wedding day. I like to fit in with the guests, be polite, accommodating, friendly, sociable and discreet. Good photography is of course about creating good images, and this involves how well you interact with your subject, after all.
My approach tends to be a good fit for relaxed couples who see their wedding primarily as a celebration of love with their favourite people. Couples who simply want to have a great time, get emotional and throw an epic party, which I believe should be the focus on your wedding day - leaving you to enjoy every moment with your family and friends in the knowledge that someone is there to capture all the best bits (big and small) from your special day.
To get more of a feel for my work, please click here - if you're not into it, no worries at all, but if you are - I'd love to hear from you, wherever you are in the world. Let me know a bit about your wedding day and I'll get back with my brochure, pricing and an invitation to get to know each other over a drink (or share one over Skype!).
Thanks so much for taking the time to look at my work.
A few facts about me
I'm from Manchester in the UK and I now divide my time between Zürich and Amsterdam. My Swiss story began back in 2012 when I met my girlfriend, Laura, who’s from Zürich. Since then we have lived together in Manchester, Auckland and Edinburgh! And now after having lived in Zürich for a number of years, work has taken us to Amsterdam too, so I now enjoy the wonderful mix of life between two very beautiful cities.
My photographic story began when I first explored the magic of film and dark rooms during Art College. This naturally led on to further studies at Universtity and since then I've been lucky enough to travel, take lots (and lots!) of photos and persue my dream of going full-time as a documentary wedding photographer. Three seasons into my career and I can honestly say it's been the best decision I've made, I thoroughly enjoy working with my amazing clients and I feel extremely lucky to be documenting their wonderful wedding stories, year after year.
When I'm not out with my camera, I love getting to the coast whenever and wherever possible to go surfing. In fact, I generally love spending time outdoors, here in Zürich there's a beautiful river and lake right in the middle of the city which (during the summer months!) is great for swimming, stand up paddle boarding and all sorts of fun stuff like that! Come winter, hiking and snowboarding in the Alps is my thing :-)
Enough about me! I look forward to getting to know more about you and your wedding plans!
