I'm Jim — a documentary wedding photographer based in Zürich, available for weddings across Switzerland and beyond. Since 2016 I've been telling love stories the way they actually happen: unposed, unscripted, and full of the real moments that make your day yours. No awkward poses, no fake smiles, no intrusive interruptions — just you and the people you love celebrating the most special day of your lives, without worrying about the photography, or the photographer!

Switzerland is one of the most extraordinary places in the world to get married. Whether you're planning an intimate elopement in the Alps, a lakeside celebration on Lake Lugano, a city wedding in Zürich, or a relaxed gathering somewhere in between — I've photographed it all, and I genuinely love every corner of this country.
Here are some of the regions I cover regularly:
Zürich — My home base. I know this city inside out, from Stadthaus ceremonies to rooftop parties and everything in between. See Zürich weddings →
Ticino & Lake Lugano — The light here is something else. Mediterranean warmth, incredible venues, and that beautiful mix of Italian and Swiss energy. See a Ticino wedding →
The Swiss Alps — For couples who want something genuinely unforgettable. Elopements, micro-weddings, or adventurous celebrations with a dramatic backdrop. See an Alps elopement →
Basel — A city with real character. Great venues, a creative crowd, and beautiful light along the Rhine. See a Basel wedding →
Everywhere else — I've photographed weddings in Bern, Lucerne, Graubünden, the Bernese Oberland and further afield. If you're planning a wedding somewhere in Switzerland, get in touch — I'd love to hear about it.

I believe your wedding photos should look like your wedding actually looked — not a styled shoot, not a catalogue, not a list of poses ticked off a clipboard. My style is rooted in documentary photography: I'm there to observe, to anticipate, and to capture the moments as they unfold. The laugh during the vows. The look between you two when no one else is watching. Your grandmother dancing. Your best friend crying. The quiet moment at the end of the night.
That said, I'm not invisible — I'm warm, easy to have around, and good at putting people at ease. Guests regularly forget I'm working. That's exactly how I like it.

Absolutely. I'm based in Zürich but regularly photograph weddings all over Switzerland — Ticino, Basel, the Alps, Graubünden, Lucerne and beyond. Travel within Switzerland is included in my packages, so there are no surprises.
Yes, and I love them. Switzerland attracts couples from all over the world for good reason — it's genuinely one of the most beautiful places on earth to get married. Whether you're local or flying in, I'm very used to working with international couples and making the planning process straightforward.
My approach is documentary first. I spend the day capturing everything as it naturally happens. I do a small set of relaxed portraits and family group shots — but I keep them brief and informal so you can get back to enjoying your day. No posing packages, no shot lists.
Packages start from CHF 2,500. Every wedding is a little different, so get in touch and I'll send over full details.
Yes — with a somewhat chaotic Swiss/High German hybrid accent! But honestly, great wedding photography doesn't rely on language. It relies on energy, trust, and being in the right place at the right moment. Couples tell me their guests barely notice I'm working — that's the goal.
Whether you're in the early stages of planning or already have a date locked in, I'd love to hear from you. Drop me a message and I'll come back to you with availability and full package details.
